Guidelines for authors

The Journal of Qalamos Heritage Studies is a biannual, peer-reviewed scholarly platform dedicated to publishing original, high-quality research that advances critical and innovative approaches to Heritage Studies.
Drawing on the shared intellectual legacy evoked by its name—from the Arabic qalam to the Greek kalamos—the journal promotes rigorous scholarship that moves beyond description towards interpretation, debate, and methodological diversity. With a particular focus on the Mediterranean basin and the Middle East, Qalamos engages heritage as both a historical record and a living field shaped by memory, politics, ethics, and cultural transformation.
We welcome interdisciplinary contributions across history, archaeology, art and architecture, ancient languages, heritage management, and heritage sciences. We invite readers, scholars, and emerging researchers to join this conversation and warmly encourage you to submit your manuscripts for consideration in Qalamos.
